What's Going On with Colin Kaepernick? And Can He Redeem Himself?

Over the last few days, the country has been hearing a lot about a man named Colin Kaepernick. Mr. Kaepernick is a quarterback for the professional football team the San Francisco 49ers. Knowing this you might assume that he did something either amazingly good or amazingly bad on the football field to warrant such widespread press. But you would be wrong. You see, Mr. Kaepernick fancies himself a social justice warrior. He is seemingly outraged at the treatment of "black America" by the United States government in specific and the rest of America in general. Seeing as he is such a big strong manly man, he is just not the type of guy that could take injustices sitting down. Oh wait! That is exactly what he did. The way Mr. Kaepernick decided to express his deep and righteous outrage was by refusing to stand during our/his nation's national anthem. Sigh.

Okay, my first question is what exactly has our/his nation done to blacks that has him all worked up into such a tizzy? The go to grievance tends to have something to do with slavery. But slavery was abolished almost one hundred and forty years ago. And at great personal cost to many freedom loving, non-slave-owning white Americans. So, that can't be it. How about the symptomatic oppression that keeps black people aways from quality education and well-paying jobs? But affirmative action actually makes it possible for minorities to get into good schools, even if they have lower grades and test scores than their white peers. He himself is surrounded on a daily basis by black men who all went to college and are now paid millions of dollars to play, what is for most people, a weekend game for children. That hardly seems wildly oppressive. Okay, okay. But what about young black people who are being killed en mass by crazed, racist police? Well, the truth is the blacks commit over 50% of all violent crime while making up only around 13% of the population. There are also piles of evidence that most police shootings are caused by the actions of the victim. Michael Brown, Alton Sterling, Korryn Gaines, Tamir Rice, etc all got themselves killed as a result of their own actions toward the police. The truth is that if you assault an officer, pull (or try to pull) a gun or knife on one, the chances are good you'll be shot. White or black. No one is forced to do those things. No one is forced to deal drugs, join gangs, rob and vandalize other people and their property. Those are choices made by each individual. And if you make them, don't be surprised when you are on the cops bad side. It's just common sense.

The sad truth is that Mr. Kaepernick is a young man with a chip on his shoulder. I'm not sure where he got it from. Maying the fact that he was abandoned at birth (by his black father) is part of it. But still, he was adopted by a loving (white) family and has been allowed to live an American dream that for most people is only a Monday night fantasy. America is not a perfect place by any stretch of the imagination. But our nation's flag is the representation of all that is good in her. It represents the values that we know are righteous, and the hopes and dreams of her people that one day those values will be fully realized. But most importantly, it takes the place of all those who have died defending those dreams. Defending a land where a young baby, who has been abandoned, can grow to live the dream that her defenders never got the chance too. They are in that flag and they should always be saluted. They should always be thanked. Mr. Kaepernick does not have to stand, that is one of the many freedoms bought for him by those he refuses to acknowledge. It is said that he will play at least one more game before his future with the 49ers is decided. It is my hope that before then he looks around himself, and while seeing all that is wrong, he also sees all that is right. That he will realize that even an imperfect union has its heroes and that we/he are the beneficiaries of their sacrifice. If he does that, I have no doubt that he will stand before his game and say a silent 'I'm sorry and thank you' to them. If I know the hearts of our heroes at all, I know they will be happy for forgive him. After all, they fought for freedom. And freedom means making mistakes and being able to come back from them. Kind of like in a football game. He is no stranger to being down in the scoring. The only question is, can he make a comeback? We shall be watching.

Do All Lives Matter?

I've been watching the news lately, and I am seeing a lot black Americans in the streets. They are out their because they are supposedly very angry whenever a black person is killed in a police confrontation. They are often chanting, carrying signs or wearing shirts that say "Black Lives Matter". They say that black people are in some way being targeted by a rampantly racist police force and treated like their lives don't matter. That they are often killed in cold blood, simply for being black. The slogan's purpose, they claim, is to counter act that...I guess. Anyway, other people are mad because the slogan is, they say, divisive in itself. So the counter slogan, "All Lives Matter" is used to show that all people are equally valuable. The problem is, they're both wrong.

I hope we can agree that all little babies, regardless of race or background, are born with equal value as people. These tiny children have never done anything in their short lives to be hated or discriminated against by anyone. If someone does have a problem with them, well, that's their problem. As a child grows up, however, the environment they are raised in plays a massive role in the the type of person they turn into. The values of the people who raise them are invaluable in this area. There are some people who have a spirit that is strong enough to overcome bad influences. But, they are very rare. Most of us become who we were taught to be. This brings me to whether or not "all lives matter". The true is that whether you are black, white, brown, yellow, red, green, purple, poke-a-dot or whatever, at some point you stop having inherent value. Your value, as a person in society at large, is now up to you.  Are you a good person who is law abiding and makes a positive impact on those around you? Or are you bad? Do you break laws? Scare or hurt people physically or emotionally? Cause pain to your loved ones? The question is, are you a negative? Because if you are, your life doesn't matter. Not when put up against someone positive it doesn't. That may seem like a very cold way of seeing people. But it's really not. Because as I've said, it's not a coin toss. Choices are what make you a positive or a negative force. First it's your parent's choices, and then it's yours.

It's sad, but the problems the "black community" has, are self made. The out of wedlock birthrate for black women is 72%. Only 28% of black children are born into homes where they have a father. Do you get that? Literally only 28% of black men with children are man enough to raise their kids and be a real father, a real man. How are these innocent babies going to learn what a real man is with no one there to show them? How are they going to learn not to cheapen themselves by getting pregnant before marriage, with no one there to teach them? The circle is viscous and it just keeps going around. Then there's "black culture". I am curious as to what that is? Because if they think that gang banging, drug pushing and being proud to live the "thug life" is a culture, it's a pretty pathetic one. It turns innocent children into a group that commits half the nations murders when they make up only 13% of the population. Does that sound good? I see women talking about being a "strong, black woman" like Beyonce. Excuse me? She dances around like a cheap stripper, "sings" graphically about her sexual exploits, and she's married to a former drug dealer who "raps" about about women, using the most degrading language out there. Strong? She's a disgrace. They both are. But they are held up as being good role models. Gang members who have been killed are given respect. Children are taught that these are the people to emulate. Is it any wonder they are so far off track?

But the biggest problem, the number one problem, is the belief that they are victims of other peoples racism and bigotry. These children are taught that the police, and white people have an ingrained hatred for them. It is drilled into their heads that when they are caught and punished for wrong doing, it's their race, not their actions that are the cause of it. That if they are then looked at with suspicion later on, it's their race, not that they have a history of criminality that causes the suspicion. So we come full circle. Back to "Black Lives Matter". Ten's of thousands of horribly raised back American's in the streets to protest what? Black on black crime? Nope. Gang and drug violence? No again. Violent and degrading lyrics in music? Still no! What they are so angry about is   criminal thugs, with wrap sheets a mile long who have illegal weapons and resist arrest, or out right attack police officers being killed as a result. They are mad at the police. The police are evil racists for protecting themselves from being killed? Does that make any sense? Even when the police are also black. You can try to figure that one out for yourselves. The stats on police shootings are irrelevant. The stats on crime broken down by race are also irrelevant. The idea that anything could possibly be in anyway their own fault won't be listened too. You are just a racist.

But the simple truth is this. Regardless of race. If you are a well mannered, well dressed(clean, clothes that fit), polite person who's is not a known criminal or hanging out with known criminals, you will likely not be stopped by the police. If you are stopped, you will not be shot if you are respectful and compliant. It's that easy. No, really. It's that easy. If you are a known criminal with an illegal gun and you give the police trouble, well, don't say I didn't warn you. So no, it's not "Black Lives Matter" or "All Lives Matter". It's what each person decides for themselves. What are you going to be?

Hey, FBI Director James Comey. Who Do You Work For?

To all the good, honest and trustworthy judges, lawyers and investigators,

this is not about you. With that said, here we go.

I am not a big wig in any government agency. Hell, I'm not a wig of any size.

I'm just a regular American who has been let down by her government one to

many times. I have sat for literally years, watching and waiting for a "lady"

named Hillary Clinton to be finally brought to account for the numerous wrongs

that she has committed on the American people. Like a lot of other's I believed

(as much as anyone can believe anything anymore) that her gross

and egregious mishandling of quite literally tens of thousands of "top secret"

emails would be handled in a courtroom. That is were people who break the

laws of the land go to stand judgment, is it not? That is what I was always lead

to believe anyway. But, maybe I'm wrong. I have mentioned my non-wig

status. Maybe I just don't get it.

But, here's the thing. There are some pretty wigged out people who have

said very clearly that Mrs. Clinton is a stone faced lying liar and that the

evidence for a conviction is overwhelming. As in, caught red handed. Go ahead,

look it up. But to help you out, here are just a few of Mrs. Clinton's greatest

hits. There's Executive Order 13526 and  18 U.S.C Sec. 793(f) that

makes it unlawful to send or store classified emails on a personal server. She

was found to have a private server and to have classified emails on it. Boom.

Done and done. Then there's Section 1236.22  of the 2009 National Archives and Records Administration that requires that  "agencies that allow employees to send and receive official electronic mail messages using a system not operated by the agency must ensure that Federal records sent or received on such systems are preserved in the appropriate agency record keeping system"  Got that? You must keep anything you send or receive on your own system. But, good 'ol Hillary deleted about 30,000 emails. Soooooo, even if she had been allowed her own server (which she was not) she still broke the law every single time she deleted an email. So at least 30,000 broken laws. But wait, there's more. She also broke the Freedom of Information Act by hiding and deleting emails. She willfully and prosperously made it impossible for her emails to be seen by anyone making a lawful FOIA request.  This, of course, hampered many a investigation into her sketchy dealings, i.e Benghazi, The Clinton Foundation, etc.

So there you go. I'm not a lawyer or a federal investigator, and I just broke

down three laws that she, for sure, broke many times. Forget an indictment,

the FBI has all they need of a conviction. Lots of convictions actually. So I have

a few question for Director James Comey. Who do you work for, Sir? Were you

bribed? Were you threatened? What were promised for not recommending an

indictment when there is a mountain of evidence against this woman

Because this stinks. This stinks real bad! I for one am going to ask questions

and keep asking until the truth on this whole crooked and rigged mess comes

to light. But, I am only one person. So if you care at all about living in a

country where laws matter, I suggest you do the same.

What Islam Is About, And Why It Needs Reform. Now.

There is a list of sources at the bottom of this page.

It may come as a surprise to some, but I have always thought of myself as a pretty open-minded person. When it comes to religion, I firmly believe that people should have the freedom to believe and worship as they see fit. This is, of course, in the First Amendment of the United States Constitution and it is very important. However, intelligent people will tell you the freedoms of one stop when they infringe on the freedoms of others. I am not generally a hateful person. But there is some hate I am happy to claim. I hate evil and I hate those who support it though their actions OR their silence. So this brings me to Islam.

History clearly shows that there has been strife in the Muslim world since, well, pretty much forever. Think back, can you come up with any time when The Middle East was a totally chill place? I doubt it! Still, let me know if you come up with anything. But as far as American's were concerned, the problems of the Middle East had never really been problems for us. It didn't come to our soil, and the percentage of Muslim American's was so small that most American's didn't really know anything about Islam. Out of sight, out of mind. Right? However, in November of 1979, fifty two Americans were taken hostage by the Islamic Republic of Iran. They were held by the Iranian government for 444 days. This was, sadly, only the beginning of Americans in the Middle East being singled out for Islamic attacks. In the early 90's America got another taste of The Middle East in general, and Islamic Terrorism in specific when good ol' Saddam Hussein (lunatic Iraqi dictator), invaded the small nation of Kuwait and America sent troops over to deal with him. It was often parodied on Saturday Night Live and that's about all the average citizen knew about that (most people aren't super curious). Then in '93 the World Trade Center was bombed. Yes, I said '93 and bombed. Because a group called Al Qaeda (lead by a monster named Osama bin Laden) car bombed the World Trade Center and caused six deaths and over a thousand wounded. I think a lot of people have forgotten about that because sadly, it turned out to be mild when compared to what was to come.

Regardless of the fact that by this point there were terror attacks going on in others parts of the world (the 24 news cycle wasn't what it is today), first world nations were still living lives of relative blissful ignorance (again with the out of sight thing). Then on 9/11 America was attacked again by Al Qaeda and it became very hard for anyone to deny that there was a group of evil people out there that had it in for us. Almost three thousand people killed in a single day is a sign that's hard to ignore. Not so out of sight anymore. Still, many people came out and said that we needed to not blame all Muslims. That they had not committed this evil and should not be punished for it. I was one of those people. Of course they all didn't do it. The suggestion is ludicrous on it's face. But here it is 2016, almost fifteen years after those attacks. And the truth about Islam, its' teachings and what its' devout believers will do, is becoming clearer with each passing day.

In the last few years, nations all over the world have been attacked in the name of Islam at a startlingly growing rate. The US, Great Britain, Spain, France, Belgium, Australia to name only a few. The reality is that there are terror attacks every single day. EVERY DAY. There has also been what can only be described as an invasion into Europe by young Muslim men who are attacking, raping and murdering woman and children in record numbers. Sweden has literally become the rape capital of Europe, and it's not Swedish men doing to raping. All because their culture is different. What "culture" might that be? But still, how can we blame the whole religion? I mean come on, there are millions of Muslims. They're not all doing this stuff. No, of course they aren't! But then why are the ones who are doing it, doing it in the name of Islam if the religion has nothing to do with it? Are they even reading the same book? Yes and no.

The Quran is super clear as to what a devout Muslim must do for their faith. How women are to be treated is clear (totally covered, regularly beaten, half the worth of a man, etc.), and how non believers are also to be treated is clear (killed). Muslims who do not follow these teaching to the letter are also considered to be apostates (one who has turned away from Islam), which is the reason that Muslims are the most likely to be used as sex slaves, tortured and murdered by Islamic terrorists. Being "Muslim" doesn't make you safe.

So here's the deal. For all the good people who believe they are Muslim, but would never do these evil things, the time for choosing is now. If your hearts are pure, the only thing to do is to bring about an Islamic reformation. Muhammad was a monster. He raped children, he married little girls, he beat woman, he murdered en mass, and then he told all men to do the same. This is your prophet?! You can't have it both ways. You can't say you believe and follow evil teachings, but not be evil yourselves. You just can't. Knowing something is evil but standing by and doing nothing is also evil (I'm talking to you Orlando shooter's wife!). But if you find the strength to reform your religion and remove what is evil and wrong, then you can truly stand up and say 'We are not them, we do not believe in the same things!', and others will believe you. All good people should/need to be on the same team. But if you won't. It can only be assumed that you support it. There is no other way to see it.

Many people will read this piece and think it is about hate. But the truth is that it is a cry out against hate. When people say the the vast majority of Muslims are good, they are right. But a silent majority has no voice, no power. Please find out the truth and speak out against real evil. If you don't, you don't matter. That's all there is to it.

Equality Vs Fairness.

The world is an imperfect place. One if it's imperfections is the inequality of human beings. For a long time people were held to the station in life to which they were born. Moving up in the world just was not going to happen. It didn't matter if you had intelligence or the drive to work hard. Who, and what you were, was pretty much set from birth.  This was excepted, and no one really made too much of a stink over it. That is, until the birth of a county based on freedom.

America is a great country. It has striven to give more freedoms and opportunities to it's people than any other country in history. With that said, we are not perfect. We have had racism and sexism and all the other "isms", just like everyone else. But it is our truly exceptional desire to be fair that has pushed us to always try to fix any problems that our citizens face in the hope that one day all Americans will live in a truly equal county. Affirmative Action was to put in place to help minorities who had been held down by institutional oppression be able to go to good schools, get good jobs, and therefor be able to move up in life. Sounds good, right? The Equal Pay Act was put in place to ensure that all people would be paid the same amount for the same work. Still good?  Now, there are laws to help those with mental or physical disabilities or religious or sexual orientation differences, so that they too will never have to compete on anything other than an entirely even playing field. Wow! That sounds like a real utopia!

Problem. As mentioned, the world is an imperfect place. And as cold and heartless as it sounds, that is often a good thing. Imperfection and inequality breeds struggle. It separates people who have natural abilities from those who do not. It then further separates those who have the personal motivation to work hard from those who are just plain lazy. It's been a very long time since there has been institutionalized inequality in America. Now the problem is forced equality. Governmental attempts to force the equalization of unequal people only lowers the standards for everyone. If a school or company must have a certain number of woman or blacks, will white men try their best? I doubt it. The deck has been stacked against them. They know they can't get in, so they don't even try. What if you are Asian? Will you be turned away because there are already "enough" Asians in the medical school you are applying too? If Affirmative Action has anything to say about it, you might want to ask yourself if being a doctor is really what you want to do. How about pay and advancement? There are laws that clearly make it illegal to pay woman less than men for the same job. So why are people always going on about women getting paid less? The truth is that woman work less hours and take more time off than men. Should a company promote the women and pay them the same wage even if this is the case? Shouldn't the time you put in, and your reliability count for something? It sounds like a dumb question. Right? But some people are so hung up on equality that they can't see the terrible unfairness that is right in front of their faces.

We, as Americans, should not strive for equality. It is an impossible goal and we should have learned by now that it is not even right for humanity. What we should work toward is achieving real fairness. Were all American's are given equality of opportunity, but are never guaranteed equality of results. To succeed or fail on ones own merits. In a fair America. Were all people are equally free.

Why All Americans Should Love Our Second Amendment.

It has been almost two hundred and twenty-five years since America's founders ratified our nation's Bill of Rights. Of these first ten amendments, it is to the second, that we owe all our liberties. For those who aren't familiar with our Bill of Rights (shame on you by the way), the second amendment is written as follows.

A well regulated militia being necessary to the security of a free state, the right of the     people to keep and bear arms shall not be infringed.

That's right, y'all. It's the gun one!  As a massive constitutionalist, it's hard for me to talk about it without totally geeking out on every single amendment. But when it comes down to it, I always pick our second amendment as my favorite. And, the truth is, that everyone should. As I have already mentioned, if you have ever enjoyed even a single moment of the sweet freedom granted to a citizen of these United States, it was bought for you at the end of a gun barrel.

Despite this fact, there are many people today that seem to be very unclear as to how much gun ownership is vital to our nation's continued freedom. It's their belief that it is that very gun ownership that puts people in danger in the first place. Which is pretty odd considering that as private gun ownership goes up, violent crime goes down. But I guess it's hard for them to realize that because they are hooked up to a twenty-four hour Kool Aide drip courtesy of the liberal media. Our friends in tv, movies, print media and the internet are Hell bent on making people see that guns are the problem. And that it's important that there be very strict gun control laws enacted to keep people save. Without guns, there would surely never be another death in America again. Right? They talk about violence on tv and in movies (that they make) causing our children to be more prone to violence. About how many children are killed each year in accidental shootings. And about mass shootings like Sandy Hook, Virginia Tech or most recently Orlando. There are however things they never talk about. In some cases because they don't know about them, but mostly because they don't want us to know. How the gun laws are already very strict.  How there is no evidence that kids are any more violent than they ever were. How kids who get guns and shoot them almost always have never been taught any gun safety. How most gun violence is perpetrated with illegally bought guns, to more laws wouldn't prevent them.  And how mass shootings are never, ever, EVER about the guns. They are ALWAYS about the shooter. Because it is the person's intent that makes a gun either a weapon of death or an instrument of salvation.

Our founders new this point first hand. They had lived for years under a tyrannical King who systematically chipped away at all their freedoms. We all know the drill. They were taxed into penury for all kinds of goods and services, with no say in the matter. They had their ability to conduct trade with foreign with lands infringed upon, greatly limited their economic power. They had their own governing bodies abolished, putting them at the King's mercy in all things, even local. And on and on. But the thing that sent our founders over the edge was when it became clear that they literally had no choice but to fight, or be slaves to the King. He sent his troops in to make sure that the colonists could never gather together and speak of their unhappiness. And when they protested, he had their guns forcibly taken and moved his troops into their homes. And that's it right there. Our revolutionary forbears understood that without their weapons, they would have never been able to break free from a tyrannical government. That a personal weapon can literally make the difference between freedom and subjugation. Between liberty or death. Luckily for us, they didn't wait until it was too late and declared their independence in 1776.

Having won their (our) freedom in a long and bloody war, it wasn't won until 1783, it was important to our founders that everything they knew was necessary to liberty be protected for all future Americans. It should come as no surprise that after freedom of speech, the right to protect oneself is at the top of that list. Without it, all our other freedoms have no protection. And so, the second amendment was born. But what about nut cases that buy guns and use them in mass killings? Surely they never wanted that? Of course, they didn't want that. Who want's that?! But they didn't live in Care-a-lot, and were not nieve to the existence of bad guys. They just fought a war remember? Bad people who have bad intentions will aways find a way to inflict their evil on others. They understood better than anyone that the only to limit the power of evil is to strengthen the power of good.

With the rise of threats like Islamic terrorism, good has never been in greater need of some strengthening. The police are always there when we need them. But they are only people, and can't be everywhere at once. People who choose evil almost always make "gun free zones" their targets? Why? Because they know that the people there are sitting ducks. Schools, movies theaters, malls and night clubs. No guns and the police minutes away. It's a blood bath waiting to happen. I don't know about you, but I am not holding my breath to hear about a retired FBI agents reunion party being shot up. But what about the ease in which these weapons can be bought? Shouldn't there be tighter restrictions? No. There shouldn't be. Because it is already very hard to buy a gun. Every person who wants too has to fill out a mountain of paperwork and have a full background check done before they can get anything. What about watch lists? Those people shouldn't be allowed guns, right? Why not? If you have committed a crime and been tried and convicted, then you don't get a gun. If you have a history of diagnosed and verifiable mental illness that makes you a danger, then you don't get a gun. That's it!  If you think otherwise, you might want to take some time and peruse the other amendments. Seriously, you need too. Due process, you're going to love it.

It's pretty much like this. You, American citizen, have the right to be free and life in a nation where you can fight any person or agency that tries to take your freedoms away. Whether it be a home intruder, a crazy ex, a monstrous terrorist or even your very own government. You can arm yourself and stand your ground. You are powerful. So on behalf of all lovers of freedom everywhere. Say a prayer of thanks to our brave founders and all the sheepdogs that came after them. And then, lock and load.

Dancing With The Devil: Terror, Lies and Denial In Orlando.

Like a lot of news junkies, I almost always reach for my phone as soon as I wake up. I'm not proud of it. But, in that respect, this past Sunday was no different than any other. What made it different, but sadly all too familiar was what I saw when the light from that little screen hit my face. The news I was squinting to see was that there had yet again been an attack on innocent people in the name of Islam. I would later find out that at least one evil monster had entered a gay nightclub in Orlando, Florida and murdered almost fifty carefree revelers and wounded over fifty more. Like all decent people, I was devastated. But that devastation would soon be transformed into an even farther reaching disgust. It took no time at all before the anti-gun opportunists started using the dead and injured as ammunition (pardon the pun) in their ongoing battle against the second amendment. Their opinion seems to be that there are no bodies too fresh to be used as gun control propaganda. In this, as in all acts of evil, they lose total sight of some very key truths. The first being that guns are not capable of having intentions, evil or otherwise. They can be just as powerful a force for protection as for death. The second being that real evil does, in fact, exist. The third is that (in this case anyway) a hate crime can also be a terror attack. And finally, that as much as they want to demonize Christianity as the religion that hates gays, the real hate is coming from one place, and it's Islam.

As I'm following the news coverage, I find that (totally unsurprisingly) the commentary not so slowly, but ever so surely moves to the weapon used as opposed to the motive behind the attack. The peanut gallery is absolutely rabid with its desire to show that if this person (I won't use his name) had been unable to buy his gun, surely this attack would never have taken place. They are sure that the best way to keep bad things from happening is to totally disarm law abiding citizens. Make no mistake. That is indeed what they want to do. Because as much as this guy was on people's radar, he had not, up to that point, committed a crime. So any background check on him would have cleared him to purchase any legal gun. The anti-gun crowd thinks that's the whole point. There should be no background check at all. The type of weapon he used should be totally illegal for anyone to own. There, problem solved, right? Wrong. There are these things called the second amendment and due process. Yeah, American citizens have the right to be armed and the right to not be treated as criminals unless there is evidence that they are. Both of those are clearly violated if a US citizen is denied a weapon when he has no criminal background. Period. There is also the issue of illegal guns. What? Well, why should anyone think that a person who is more than happy to commit mass murder would have any moral opposition to buying a black market gun? Think about it. Making guns illegal for everyone only disarms the good guys. Bad guys don't care about laws. Get it?

Another theme that the talking heads seem to be totally fixated on is, why? I think we all get that. Of course, we want to know why a person would go on a murderous rampage. If we had the answer we might be able to stop it from happening again. Or so we like to think anyway. But with this guy, they actively push aside the flashing neon lights of evidence about his motive and start looking for other reasons. He goes on to everyone he knows about is radical Islamic beliefs, he's been investigated twice by the FBI because of them, his father is a radical Islamist, he worships under a radical Imam and he calls 911 to declare is allegiance to ISIS. But that can't be it. It must be something else. Like maybe he's gay and his personal self-loathing is what pushed him to do it. There's lots of evidence that he was. Trying to pick up guys and using gay dating apps does seem to point in that direction. So maybe he was. Maybe he did hate himself for it. But, hello!? I mean really. He did all but leave a note telling the world what his mind set was. Why can't the liberal press just call a spade a spade? That's the 'why' I'm focused on. My best guess is that moral relativism has run so rampant that these people just can't admit that he was motivated by an evil ideology. That would mean admitting that there really is a spectrum of good and evil. Right and wrong. Doing that would throw so many other stanses into question. They just arn't ready to go there.

Now we can't talk about this attack without mentioning that it was against a nightclub that catered to gay patrons. So what? People are people. Victims are victims. Yes, that is true. But come on, this club was targeted because it was a gay club. Anyone with brains knows that. So if there were no other elements, it would be classified as a hate crime right away. And rightly so. But the shooter going on about Islam has gotten some people a little confused. Terrorist act or hate crime? Which one is it? At the risk of sounding like a jerk, it's both morons. Show me a terrorist attack that was not motivated by hate and I'll show you the corpse of Jimmy Hoffa that I keep frozen in my basement. Seriously. Why is this even being talked about? The 'either-or' of it is ridiculous.

The final madness that is being thrown around (mostly on the interwebs) is people going after Christians and conservatives as if this act of heinous murder was their fault. Anytime someone comes out and says 'this was an act of Islamic terrorism' there is someone else right there to tell them that's a bigoted thing to say. Even some in the LGBT community are jumping to the Muslims defense. Which is one of the most wack-a-doodle things ever, if you really think about it. Yes, there are a lot of Christians/conservatives that are not, shall we say, huge fans of the gays. But, come on! It is an actual tenant of the Islamic faith that being gay is a sin to be punished by death. In Islamic countries, gays are put to death every day. But here in America, what really works our gays up into a tizzy is not having a cake made for their wedding by the shop of their choice. Oh, the humanity! Being slaughtered en mass is apparently A-Okay. What?! When did we all fall down the rabbit whole? At this point, I'm just waiting for my invitation to the Mad Hatter's tea party.

Okay. So, here's what really happened. Islam is an ideology of hate and domination. Maybe there are good parts of the Koran, but sorry, I'm stuck on all the killing, raping and servitude. Any "good" Muslims need to break from this madness now. Have a reformation and expunge this evil madness from your teachings. If you do not, you make it clear where you stand. People who follow the Koran to the letter are a danger to everyone. This has been shown time and time again. This guy used guns. But they use guns, bombs, knives, fire and anything else they can. The only way to push this evil back is to call it what it is and arm ourselves to the teeth. Everyone, us and them, needs to understand in no uncertain terms that we are serious. We will not be their victims. Fifty people will never go home again. But they are only the latest. This ideology's victims should not be used as pawns in a PC game of misdirection. It's an insult to their memories, and it only emboldens our enemies. Truth doesn't care about what is easy to face. It only cares about reality. This will happen again. And again, and again. They will not stop until they are made too. That's our job. Are you ready?

Pride. What Can Be Bad About That?

Seeing as this is Pride Month, I was asked by a reader if I would write an opinion on Pride Parades and their pros and cons. To my mind, there aren't really that many cons at all. Pride parades, whether they be LGBT, Irish, Cuban or what have you, are simply about a group of people expressing their happiness in their shared affiliation. Having pride in one's self is generally a good thing and I for one am happy for them. The only real con, however, tends to be a pretty big one. When the pride people feel and their desire to share it morphs into aggressively pushing their differences in others faces with the purpose of gleefully reveling in their discomfort, then I stop being a fan. Do men need to wear g-strings and ball gags as they walk down the street to show that they are not ashamed of being gay? Do Cubans need to also disparage America in order to praise their heritage? Do the Irish need to be fall down drunk on St. Patrick's day to pay proper homage to their ancestors? Uh, no. No, they don't.

It is said that pride cometh before the fall, and that is generally true. Most people don't have any problems with the pride others feel about themselves. If you don't share something with someone, that doesn't mean you don't like it. But the quickest way to turn people off is a neener neener style of over the top bravado. No one likes a hatefully delivered message, even if the message itself is just fine. More and more, people are finding that when they say they don't want to watch two dudes go at it, they are labeled as homophobic. That if they don't like cultural pride parades because other cultures are degraded in them, that means they are racists. It gets very tiring. What happened to being able to appreciate one thing without having to push something else into the gutter? If you are gay and go on and on about how being straight is gross, don't be shocked if straight people don't love that. If all your pride as a black person is built on your believe that white people are the devil, well you get the point.

It pretty much comes down to common sense. Pros: Personal and shared happiness. Cons: Divisive obnoxiousness. If everyone can just make sure to stick to the pros, we can be proud of the selves we were born as, and the selves we choose to be. So be proud, wave your flag, but just make sure that you aren't screaming at anyone and that you're always wearing pants. Words to live by.

Trump Vs Hillary. It's A Real Pickle. Or is it?

So it comes down to this. The final two. It has been a very rocky road to get to this point. Election seasons are always ugly. But we tend to romanticize all those that have come before as more civilized somehow. The one we find ourselves in at the moment always seems to be the worst. And this go round has been no different, with one clear exception. Donald Trump. The GOP's electorate has possibly never seen such a bombastic and un-PC candidate be so wildly successful. But Trump's success will be all for not if he can't win in a general election. The question we have now is, should he?

I think that question would be easier to answer for a lot of people if it weren't for Mr. Trump's opponent. You see this election isn't the old run of the mill contest of Republican vs Democrat. Make no mistake, this is Donald v Hillary. That's right, Hillary Clinton. One of the most viscerally reviled people in politics today, or maybe ever. She has always been seen by those on the right as cold, calculating, elitist and out for herself. But in recent months and years, it has become all too clear how deeply those traits truly run. As those in the Never Trump camp are saying they could never and will never vote for him, let's look at why we must.

This is the first time I have openly said that Mr.Trump should be supported by conservatives. I have made no secret of  the fact that, as a presidential candidate, he does not light my fire. Indeed, I have never been one of his feverishly supportive fans, and at this point, I don't see that ever happening. The alternative, however, a Hillary Clinton presidency is not an option. With that said, there are a couple of things we must do. We must ensure that Mrs. Clinton does not win the White House. We do this, of course, by voting for Mr. Trump. We must also, and this is very important, hold Mr. Trump to his conservative and constitutional promises.

But why is Mrs. Clinton so objectionable? How could she be so bad that people should vote for someone they don't even like, just to avoid her? Well, there are so many things that are wrong with her, it would take a Russian novel to go through them all. So let's stick to the finer points. She's a morally devoid, traitorous, pathological liar who thinks that the rule a law does not apply to her. Wow! That's a bit extreme. Not really. Here are the facts.

Every person who was in Benghazi, Libya on the night that four of our people were murdered, says that Mrs. Clinton is lying about what happened and what she knew in real time and afterwards. She repeatedly blamed the attack on our embassy on a video when it has been proven that she knew from the very beginning that it was a planned attack with no connection to the video. She also lied to the faces of families of those killed as to what happened. They have all come out and told the same story and it boils down to her lying for political reasons. As to her belief that she is above the law, her scandals go back to the 70's. But just in the last few years, it has come to light that as Secretary of State she used The Clinton Foundation as a pay to play for foreign governments to buy influence with her State Department.  This is clearly a conflict of interest and as far as I know, not strictly legal. But that is nothing compared to her usage of private email addresses and servers that were not secure or even known about by the government during her time as SoS. She knowingly allowed our nation's top secrets to be at the mercy of foreign governments and civilian hackers alike. She then deleted over 30,000 emails instead of producing them as she was ordered to by law. Last time I checked those actions are all illegal. And all but handing over our secrets on a silver platter to anyone who's interested is treasonous. Is this the kind of person we can allow to be our president? Someone whom it seems doesn't have a decent or honest bone in their body?  Uh, no.

I can hear the Never Trumpers yelling at me now. But he's not conservative. He's a flip-flopper. He's racist. He's sexist. He's a bigot. As to him being racist, sexist or a bigot, I have seen no proof of that. Most of what he says on those topics is spun, or out right lied about in the press. Such as him saying all Mexicans are rapists and murderers. He never said "all". He was referencing people who have made their way through our ever more porous border and do commit crimes. The stats on that back him up. What I'm more concerned about is his temperament, his knowledge of important facts and issues and if he will stay true to his word. Which is the reason why he needs to feel pressure from the conservative, libertarian and constitutionalist camps. His Supreme Court nominee is of vital importance. His choice of Vice President and cabinet appointees are also vital. The answer to "making America great again"( as is Trump's moto) is not casting a ballot and walking away. It should never leave his mind that he needs to earn his right to live in America's house, and keep earning it.

We, as American's have an obligation to cast a ballot for our president. But we are often not given a choice that we are happy with. Many see sitting it out as the right thing to do. They have a clear conscience because they feel they are not to blame for whatever wrong is done by the winner. But the reality is that a nonvote is a vote for the worse of the two. Hillary will run loose with the progressive agenda in a way that I don't think we can even imagine. She will weaken us in the eyes of our enemies and in so doing put America and the world in ever more danger than we are in now. In spite of Mr. Trumps flaws, I can't shake the knowledge of what a Hillary presidency would mean. It just can't be allowed.

So get yourself involved in more than just the election for president. Whether it be a local, state or federal election, we must remember that we do not elect dictators. Those who win our votes must continuously earn it, and always be held to account by we the people. That's what made America great in the first place.

Surprise! If You're Obese, It's Bad.

I'm just going to put this out there. Being fat is bad. Yes, I said it. If you find yourself triggered, and needing to yell obscenities at me for my hateful body shaming, go right ahead. But it will not change the fact that I'm right. While every person obviously needs a certain amount of fat to live, it has been known for a very long that too much body fat is not only a bad thing but it can be deadly. Medical science tells us that there are a host of health problems that are made worse by, or are directly caused by being too fat. Our own Department of Health and Human Services runs down a truly staggering list:

Heart Disease,   High Blood Pressure,   Type 2 Diabetes,   Abnormal Blood         Fats,   Metabolic Syndrome,   Cancer,   Osteoarthritis,   Sleep Apnea
Obesity Hypoventilation Syndrome,   Reproductive Problems   And                     Gallstones

They also go on to report on the rise of these conditions in children, where they use to be almost unheard of. In fact, the number of children who are obese in the US has tripled in the last thirty years. Tripled! They don't even mention all the joint problems that are caused. But knee and hip replacements are also on the rise, due to the fact that people's joints can't handle the weight and just give out.

Yikes! So knowing all of this there is no way that anyone would be okay with being overweight, right? People would be active in their pursuit of a healthy body weight through diet and exercise, right? And no one would be supportive of friends and family becoming so overweight that their health become a real concern, right? Wrong. A very sad, dangerous, obnoxious, and enragingly hypocritical movement has been sweeping the US (and other western nations) for a few years now. It's called Body Positivity. It sounds reasonable enough. The whole idea seems to be that people should not hold themselves to impossible beauty standards and love the person they are, as they are. But, that is not at all what the body positivity crowd is really all about. What they really want is to let the laziest and most gluttonously out of control among us off the hook. They actually push the (totally nonsensical) idea that not only is big beautiful but that it's also healthy and anyone who says otherwise is branded as a "fat-shamer". But big is neither beautiful or healthy, and both science and human evolution tell us so.

We've already gone over medical science's reason's why packing'em on is maybe not the best idea. You do remember the list, don't you? But what about evolution? If the only thing that happened to you when you plumped up was that you became unhealthy, I guess that would be your own problem. But something else happens. You become pretty darn repulsive to the opposite sex. Yeah. These gigantic people are having a Hell of a time getting dates, much less marriage proposals. As you might imagine, the porkiest among us aren't super happy about this. But doing something about it like, I dunno, dieting, and exercising are totally out of the question. Why? Because that would mean actually admitting that they are the cause of their own problems and then taking responsibility for them in the form of actions. They can't even begin to comprehend doing that. So instead they have decided to live is a bizarro world and to force their delusional self-love on the rest of us. Demonizing anyone who dares to speak the reality that they are, well, kinda gross. This is the reason that our body-positive friends keep pushing their mindless mantra on us all. They are hoping to somehow trick us into believing something that our own biology tells us is wrong. Say it with me now "big is beautiful, big is beautiful, big is beautiful". But it's not working.

Men and women are both programmed by nature to look for certain physical attributes in the opposite sex. This is a biological fact. Men want a woman with a small waist and a chest and hips that form and hourglass shape. This shows her to be healthy and able to birth healthy children. Which is a good thing. Women look for a man with a narrow waist, broad shoulders, and strong arms and legs. This shows that he can be a provider and a protector for her and their children. Also a good thing. Some people (mostly feminists) lose their minds over this. They just can't stand the idea that looks might count for something. They also can't seem to understand the fact that their outrage is of no importance to nature. So they continue their endless and losing battle to push woman (and it's almost always women. The fems don't much care if men are made to feel bad) such as Tess Holliday, Ashley Graham, and others on a very unwilling audience, as examples of "real" women who are normal and beautiful. The idea that beauty is in the eye of the beholder is no longer acceptable. The warriors of the body positivity movement take no prisoners. You are not allowed to have your own opinion as to what is, or is not attractive. You MUST whole heartedly agree that they ARE beautiful. Or else.

The "or else" comes in the form of constant bombardment. Television, movies, magazines and the internet have all jumped on the BP bandwagon. Even Sports Illustrated couldn't help themselves and put a plus-sized model on the cover of their yearly swimsuit issue. That's right. A woman who is in arguably bad physical shape was on the cover of a sports magazine in a bikini. All for the purpose of appeasing the BP Gestapo. After all, a magazine that glorifies the ideal female form would be at the top of their target list. They already went after fitness and beauty companies like Protein World with horrifying results (can you say bomb threat). So SI played it off like they loved it. I'm sure all the men who looked forward to that issue were just jumping for joy with excitement too, huh? I doubt it. The truth is that SI published three different covers, the first time they've ever done that by the way, and the one with the thin model was the best liked. I for one think that SI knew the cover wasn't going to be a big seller, so they hedged their bets with a traditional model as well. Look, the media can do whatever they want too. But it would seem that the BP devotees don't appreciate the hypocrisy of pushing their preferences while simultaneously raging against others rights to do the same.

Possibly the most double talking they do, though, has to do with child obesity vs. body positivity. On the one hand, we have women who are morbidly obese taking photos of themselves in all states of undress and putting them on the internet to see be objected too. On the other hand, American school children are having their lunches whittled down to almost nothing and being sent home with report cards on their body mass index. They are being told (and punished) that they are too fat, all while also being told that there is nothing wrong with being fat and that self-acceptance is all that's important. Is it any wonder that children today seem more confused and depressed than ever before? The mixed messages they get on almost every topic are enough to spin the head of even the most well-adjusted adults, much less impressionable children.

I will end by saying that this is not about claiming that being fat makes you a bad person. I confess that I myself need to lose a few. Even while I wrote this I had a couple donuts. But I will not blame anyone else for my doing so. I will also try hard to eat right (most of the time) and exercise. What it's really about the fact that there is a good range and a bad range as far as body fat goes. People should know their good range and try to get there. A lot (maybe even most) of people will fall short. We can't all be Sports Illustrated cover models. Okay, bad example. But telling ourselves that no matter how far we go into the bad range, that we are still doing an amazing job is just delusional. Seeing what is real is the only way to move in the right direction. And harshly judging society at large (pun) for not going along with that delusion is just plain wrong. Being mature enough to take truthful stock of where you are, and then making real changes that make you a better person. Now that's positivity. Body, mind and soul.

How Feminism Hurts Everyone And Everything.

If you are a woman in today's America, there's a good chance you have been lead to believe that feminism is a wonderful thing that has brought only good things into the lives of you and all the ladies you know. After all, women today are told that they can achieve anything they want too. You can be successful in every aspect of your life. Relationships, family, careers, you name it and it can be yours. It's a bit like an infomercial from the 90's, or some cheesy self-help book. But wait, there's more! The sky's the limit. If you believe it, you can be it.

Here's the problem. It's all total crap. The truth is that it's hard to find even one thing that is wrong with America today, or indeed the world, that hasn't been directly caused or made much worse by the scourge that is third wave feminism. I am talking about third wave feminism specifically. There aren't any anti-feminists out there who are trying to take away voting rights, land ownership or access to education. So you can unclench your intestines. This is about the loud, angry, selfish, scary, ugly monsters who are the children of today's feminist movement. So what is it that is so bad about today's feminism? In truth, there are way too many societal negatives to get into here. So I will touch on just a few of them. How feminists will not rest until all women are basically turned into men, how men are being turned into evil rape monsters (and somehow also into total pansy asses), and how young girls and boys are being tricked into denying their own instincts about their differences (scarring them for life in the process). So this should be fun. Here we go!

If you look up the word feminism, it's all about women. Women's rights, equality for women. Women, women, women. So it's a bit odd that third wave feminism is thoroughly anti-woman. Everything that is inherent to the feminine nature is not only frowned upon and hatefully judged but also aggressively railed against. Women are programmed by nature to have certain inherent skills and the personal desires that go along with them. Finding a man who is strong in both body and character, to marry and raise a family with, is chief among them. But not to the modern feminist movement. They will have you believe that women who have these desires are really being held down by the nebulous, yet profoundly evil patriarchy. That's right. Whenever you feel attracted to a physically strong man, or that you might (God forbid) want to stay home and raise your own children, you are in fact being forced to feel those things by, I dunno, a council of men in black hoods somewhere. Nevermind that these feelings are supported by biology and the evidence of all of human evolution. According to the fems, strong, empowered and independent woman don't need men at all and wanting a family ( as opposed to a job in astrophysics ) is just a sign that you are a weak willed gender traitor. They also want it universally excepted that woman can be just as physically strong as men. Take the never-ending push to force female superheroes on us. That's right, girls, don't pay any attention to the fact that you are 5'3 and maybe weigh a buck fifteen. You can definitely kick the crap out of those four big beefy guys that want to do you harm. No sweat.  Right? Sorry, but not right. The reality is that if it weren't totally choreographed, she'd get killed. But according to our friends in the overweight, buzz cutted feminist army, women should all aspire to be career driven, childless, husbandless, beefed up ass-kickers with out a shread of femininity to be found. If that sounds to you like someone that's not a woman at all, well, you're not alone.

Yea! Men are great! If all the fembots want us to look like men, act like men and basicaly be men, that must mean they really like men. Right? Wrong! If there is anything that those hairy beasts hate more than women who actually want to be normal women, it's men. Men are enemy number one. Men are everything that a femininity hateing feminist wishes she could be. But they can't be, so what do they do? They try to beat the masculinity right out of them. Make them into whiney, whimpy, pathetic losers. Sadley, they're doing a pretty darn good job. Everywhere you look are dickless pajama boys who wouldn't know how to be manly if a bull dyke gave them personal lessons. But, even while they busy themselves turning America's men into spineless losers who would sooner run away from a pretty girl than talk to her, they endlessly push the totaly false idea of "rape culture". The double speak here is really something to behold. Men are simultaneously weak willyed, sandal wearing momma's boys who cower at the very sight of any pink haired she-whale, but they are also sex driven monsters who will assault you as every opportunity.  Hmm, seems unlikely. But the unlikeliness of it has not stopped the feminist horde from pushing this lie all over America's college campuses with the undying help of the media at large. The more our nation's men become hung out to dry as the world's next great evil, the farther they wrap themselves in the deep v-necked shirts and tie-dyed scarves of appeasement. The feminazis will stop at nothing to make sure that every last man has a deep seeded self-hatred that is fostered from his earliest memory.

That brings up to the sweet, cherubs that are today's youth. As these little children go off to their first days of pre school, they have no idea that what they are starting is a long and predetermined road of gender and equality indoctrination. No Billy, you don't really want to play cops and robbers, maybe you want to play house with Justin and Sam while Jill and Becky build a fort. From almost day one they are taught that the feelings and instincts they have as to how to behave and what to like are totally wrong. The girls are pulled aways from the dolls and crayons, even if that is what they want to do, all in the name of teaching them that they can do whatever that want to. The irony of this seems to be lost on all the early childhood majors who are so proud of the role they are playing on the front lines of feminist reform. The boys, on the other hand, are told quite the opposite. They most definitely can not do whatever they want. They may want to play with trucks or run around the playground in a loud and aggressive game of war. But no, they are made to understand that those desires are bad and should be resisted. They should be nice, sensitive boys. Which leads them, in a straight line, right into store call Scarf Heaven. Whether such a store actually exists, I have no idea. But, you get the point.

Men and women are no long allowed to be men and women. Young and old alike are being strong-armed into marching lock step to the never ending drum beat that is modern day feminism. It takes away everything that is good and right about the genders and their complementary differences and changes them around so much that people aren't sure what they want, how to act or even who they are. If that doesn't hurt everyone and everything, I don't know what does.

For All Who Serve.

Today is Armed Forces Day. Many Americans will go onto social media and say thank you to all our men and women who are, or have served in our nation's armed forces. I'm sure that for many of those people, their thanks will be sincere. But I also know that the vast majority of them have no idea what is really sacrificed on their behalf.

The truth is that our citizenry's current ignorance to the realities of the war fighting business is a testament to the amazing success of our nation's fighting force. In other parts of the world were bombings and house to house street fights are a daily happening, the United States has the luxury of being shocked whenever a couple of nutcases decide so go on a rampage. The country felt a collective punch to the gut after the Boston Marathon bombing. But in places like Iraq, Syria or just about anywhere in Africa, that would barely have warranted a front page mention. We are safer in America than just about anywhere in the world. And that didn't just happen. Our military has kept this kind of evil out of the sights, and out of  the minds, of most of the American populous. But that doesn't mean it isn't there. Our guys confront it every day so that we may continue to trick ourselves into believing it can never touch us. But that belief comes at a cost. And that cost never fails to get paid.  In every state in our union, there are national cemeteries. Some are so large that when you're there, you can't see past the headstones. There are men and women buried there from every conflict this nation has every engaged in. And I invite anyone to not feel something when you see the ages of so many of our heroes when they died. There are also almost 130,00 Americans buried overseas. The last resting places of our boys who never had a chance to come home. For those older veterans who did come home, the "lucky ones", the pain they feel as the years go by, if anything, gets stronger. When they were nineteen and lost their buddies, the loss was a personal one. But the older they get, they realize more and more just how much their friends gave up. Every milestone in their lives brings with it the reminder of just how much their friends never got to have.

For our younger veterans the situation, if possible, if even worse. They come home to the realization that they have nothing in common with most of their own generation. They struggle to have things to talk about when they try to get jobs in the civilian world, and going back to school often brings bitterness and real anger. Seeing people your own age who have never lived a single day for others, but who willing tell anyone who will listen all about how the world "really is", is nauseatingly and infuriating. But they are nothing compared to the professors. Some guy shoving his world view done their troat. Making them out as evil murderers. Some just can't stand it, so they drop out. Being there is just too hard. And who can blame them?

It may come as no surprise that many of them, then chose to go into jobs in emergency response. Police, Fire Fighters, or EMT/Paramedics.  They just can't help it. They are good people who feel a real need to help others. The comradery they get in these fields is also the same as when they were in the military. They are all on the same team, working together and looking out for each other. Sadly, however in these jobs (or callings really) our vets are met with an almost unending stream of ungratefulness, hatred and real danger. The risks they take aren't understood or, in some cases even cared about, by the vast majority of the population. They are seen as too fast to tackle or pull their guns. But these guys know how fast a situation can go from just fine to you or your partner are dead. Moments. Mere moments. They know it because they have lived it. So is it really any wonder that they chose to be better safe than sorry? Not really. They leave their homes and families and throw themselves headfirst into the worst situations imaginable, every day. Day after day. For the people they are helping, it's the worst day of their lives. But the responders have already been to four or five situations just like it in that day alone. The stress they are under in unimaginable for most people.

A lot of our vets, regardless of age or conflict are also suffering from the invisible injuries of war. Post Traumatic Stress is not a disorder as so many people believe, but a real injury. An injury that only happened because of their selfless willingness to do what only 1% of our population is willing to do. They should be heralded as heroes and given every help at healing that they need. Yet so many feel isolated and stigmatized for their symptoms. Loud noises and large crowds can cause them to panic. The fear they feel is compounded by the judgment and misunderstanding by many of the people around them. They feel they should be able to handle it and that it is a mark of weakness that they can't. As a result, many retreat into themselves and never ask for the help they need. This needs to stop. They should be met with nothing but our grateful willingness to help. Their wounds were incurred in our service and are nothing to be ashamed of.

Any gratitude for our current or former veterans is not complete without a mention of the military family. The support given to our service members by their families is often overlooked, but their sacrifices are just as life changing. Spouses and children deal with separation, fear, and loss. They carry the burden of helping to support their loved ones through the emotional and sometimes physical wounds they come home with. They deal daily with the costs of service. For them, it is a never ending battle.

So what's the point? The point is that if you are a beneficiary of our nation's veterans or first responders ( that's all of you ), you have an obligation to educate yourselves on the struggles they go through, and real sacrifices they give for you. And don't just say thank you on holidays. Say it everyday. They've earned it! And believe it or not, a simple and sincere thank you is all they ever want. Pretty amazing, right?

Trigger Warning! Transgenderism Is Not A Real Thing. And You're Cruel To Say It Is.

Note: I am not a doctor. This article is an opinion and not a medical diagnosis. If you feel you are suffering from a gender identity problem. Read the links below and seek medical treatment.

I really can't pinpoint the day when it was decided that proclaiming yourself not to be your born gender was a good thing. I have a few memories of hearing about such a thing as a child. But it was far from something that was always on tv and in the news, being talking about at all, much less celebrated. But the times seem to have changed just as much as some people's gender identity. Even though only 0.03% of the population claim to have this issue. Now, thanks in part to people like Bruce (Caitlyn) Jenner, I can't get away from it. We have been told that these people are something called Transgender. That they were quite literally born into the wrong gendered body. In the case of Bruce, that he is in fact, a she. That by "transitioning", they will become their "authentic selves" and begin "living their truth". That they will be happy for the first time in their lives. Great, right?

But if you are confused by this, you are not alone. To most people the idea doesn't quite add up. How can a person be in the "wrong" body? You don't want anyone to be unhappy. But you just can't seem to understand it. Here again, the trusty media lets us know how to think. And it's that questioning the validity of transgenderism at all is bigoted and hateful. So, there you go. It's real, period. You transphobe! But wait, shockingly that's not the whole story. There's a lot more to it that the PC police and our dear friends, the social justice warriors aren't telling you. The real truth is that transgenderism is not actually a real thing at all. And that by going along with it, we are actually hurting the people that are suffering from the mental illness of Gender Dysphoric Disorder.

If you've never heard of Gender Dysphoria, I'm not surprised. It's not a term that is used very often. The LGBTQAIIXYZ7 people don't even want it mentioned. But what it is, is the condition of feeling one's emotional and psychological identity as male or female to be opposite to one's biological sex. That you, in fact, feel that you are not in the right body, when you really are. It is a mental illness, not a physical one. So just as with other mental illnesses, going along with it, even if it seems to make the afflicted feel better in the moment, is the wrong thing to do. They will not get better, and the long-term results could be disastrous.

Most people understand that when it comes to mental illness, changing the outside will not fix the inside. Yet when it comes to people that believe themselves to be trans, this it exactly what they do in order to seek happiness. In the case of Bruce, he grew out his hair, started wearing women's clothes and make-up, he even takes female hormones and had surgery to his face, neck and chest. But this is little more than an expensive game of dress up. He has not become a woman at all. He is every bit the biological man he ever was. As are all people who make the choice to "transition". It is interesting to point out that Bruce, like a lot of people suffering from GDD, has chosen not to have full gender reassignment surgery. Which is a good thing because studies show that around ten years after their transition, these people start to have serious mental problems stemming from the regret they feel that it leads to a more than twenty-fold higher suicide rate than the average non-trans population. For those who do have the full surgery, the regrets are even worse. The realization that they have made a mistake that can never be fixed is overwhelming. They can stop the hormones, and dress the way they used too. But they will never be the same again. Which is the exact reason why telling someone that it's wonderful that they make these changes in the first place, is so wrong. The mentally sane have a responsibility to help those who are struggling, not push them toward destroying themselves.

Some good examples of this are the disorders of Anorexia Nervosa and Body Dysmorphic Disorder. People who suffer some these illnesses, just as with sufferers of GDD have a totally skewed view of themselves. A sufferer of Anorexia will literally believe that they are fat when in fact they are close to dead due to malnutrition. They can look like a skeleton and still "see" fat. Should they be told by friends and family that they are right? That they should "live their truth"? That they could use to lose a few? Of course not! They need help. Even if they don't want it. Those with BDD believe that they are physically hideous. They will diet and exercise to dangerous levels. They will spend, in some cases, millions of dollars on plastic surgeries that they are never happy with. They will hide themselves away from people to the point of becoming total recluses. This disorder, if untreated, can often lead to severe anxiety, depression and suicide. All of which were the case for one of it's most famous sufferers, Michael Jackson. Jackson used his vast wealth to indulge his illness and it lead to his facial disfigurement and ultimate death from a drug overdose at the age of just fifty years old.

Many say that it is just hate speech. That it is bigoted and cruel to "deny a person's true self". But in reality, they are hurt far more by our cultures growing willingness to be a joyful party to their delusion. Children are having their puberty stopped. Schools are teaching that there are many different genders. That you can just choose the one you like, and change your mind later if you feel like it. In a society were feeling are king, truth has no place if it makes you unhappy. I shutter to think of all the children who will grow up having no idea who they are. The road we are on is a dangerous one that is already being lined with the casualties of the feelings revolution.

But as with all roads, we can turn around. We can speak the truth. We can share reality with the people who need it most. Our friends, families, children and those who are currently in the grips of this terrible illness. With love and kindness, we can help them come back to who they really are. Only then can they live in their happy, authentic truth.
